Are you thinking of taking a trip to Jamaica? Then let me share our experience with you. Jamaica is a beautiful Caribbean island with steady temperatures and beautiful weather throughout the seasons. The island is home to numerous bird species and very few insects of the annoying type. Its warm waters and amazing people make this a great place to get away to. My wife and I chose the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, which was a short 15 minute ride from the hotel. Once off the bus the treatment we received was phenomenal. They make you feel like you are someone special. From hot towels on arrival, to a welcome drink, we knew our vacation had begun. The island has many resort hotels, but this is the one I chose off a recommendation from a family member. Iberostar Grand Rose Hall is connected to two other resorts, which are kid friendly and just as nice as Rose Hall. Rose Hall is an adults only, 18 and older resort. Food on the resort was amazing, we did move between all three hotels, and ate at two of the three while on our trip. Whether you want a romantic beach dinner or a family buffet you can do whatever your heart desires. This is also an all-inclusive resort, so you are more than welcome to indulge yourself while on vacation. While staying at any of the three Iberostar resorts you can enjoy snorkeling at the reef, take out an ocean kayak, or even grab a catamaran and go for a sail.
For off site things to do, you will have many options. If you’re looking for a relaxing 3 mile guided river raft cruise head on out to Martha Brae river raft trip. Here you get on a bamboo raft where your guide will take you on a 3 mile journey. You will see the flora of the area and have a chance to interact with your local guide. If you get a chance, stop by one of the vendors on the side of the river and grab a coconut drink. You also could go to Rose Hall and hear the tale of Annie, a sugar plantation owner who was known as the White Witch of Rose Hall. You can take a tamer day tour and learn the history of the plantation and house or you can take the nighttime tour called, enchanted and make it a little more interactive and maybe even get a chance to see the white witch herself. One last recommendation is Luminous Lagoon. Take a nighttime boat ride and experience this amazing site. Phytoplankton lites up as you cruise through the lagoon. Bring a swimsuit and jump in and swim among the harmless phytoplankton. Make sure you bring your camera. Jamaica has so many options when it comes to things to do. This is just a glimpse of a few. The people of the island are very friendly and very appreciative. Our recommendation is to show your appreciation in the form of a tip. They do put forth an amazing effort to making your vacation memorable.
